Well, the topic's pretty clear--who saw it (the special) on the Discovery channel yesterday?

Internet article to get an idea about what I'm talking about

Jesus that is awful!

That poor child! At least her parents can love her.
Paul_Banks_Baby
I'm suprised, that when her parents were asked to come back OVER AND OVER for their ultrasound, they didn't really ask what was wrong with her.

When I saw her face up close, I was surprised, to say the least.
Venereal Disease
Ugh. sad.gif I can't go to it!

They explained all that at the beginning of the program. The parents (and doctors) knew there was some sort of problem, but thought it was a cleft palet or something along those lines, which is entirely fixable.

And "at least her parents can love her" is about the stupidest thing I've heard. Of course they love her! I'm sure anyone that knows her loves her. Just because her face is screwed up doesn't mean she's some sort of monster. She's a nice little girl who got dealt a pretty bad hand. But the plastic surgeons did wonderful work on her.

I saw that on TV a year ago.
Venereal Disease
It just let me go to it, she's a special child(that was not meant in a negative way).
annie
The girl is actually very cute

they did some sort of charity thing for kids to raise money for her operation (I think, sketchy on the details, saw it like a year ago) and all the kids there were so sweet to her

I just feel bad for her because she may need to get operations all her life just to reconstruct her face and they have no Idea how long it may take

I love watching things like this. It's very interesting.
Venereal Disease
So do I.

Hey Karli, did you ever end up watching the doc about the bloke who was raised a girl?
ultrasex
No? =O ...Is that going to come on anything soon? xD
Venereal Disease
No. I think it was just that one time.
ultrasex
Poop. Oh well.

The Medical Channel is fun to watch. I don't watch all of those Trauma things, but I like those weird shows like Mystery Diagnosis and Medical Incredible.

Yeah, me too.

...but still...It makes me really sad to see it. I feel bad for the parents. No one expects their kid to be like that, and every just expects a normal kid, but when that happens, you just feel bad.

I watched that once sad.gif it was so sad, poor little thing. Really puts my problems (like a bad exam I just wrote) in perspective.
The Little Escapologist
sad.gif it's sad
