Happy New Years everyone!

I thought I'd type out this little diddy to let you all know a bit of whats going on "behind the scenes".

First off I'm sure most of you have noticed the 2 competitions going on in The Vines General Discussion section. Check them out if you havn't yet.

Secondly, some of you may have noticed a rise in the amount of new members we're getting. Some are from the DTI forum here to join in on the competitions, but alot are just new fans or new to The Vines forum experience. Please be patient with any new members. They'll get the hang of everything quick enough. If you notice a member has made a pointless or repeated thread just try to help them out a bit instead of biting their head off and report the thread to a moderator to get it fixed.

Expect alot more new members in the next few months to come with the release of a single and the album from the guys.

If you're new, welcome! We hope you enjoy posting here.

All new members receive a PM from a moderator welcoming them and pointing out the rules thread, and are asked not to post leaks from The Vines new album. If you've made an alternate username recently you may have gotten one of these PM's. Between this, the two competitions, and the forum awards all the moderators have been hard at work.

Besides all that:
-We've been trying to get some more smilies for the forum
-We've been trying to get Jen (wonkytooth) and Maddie (marilyn_monroe) moderator priviledges for all sections instead of the few they each moderate
-We've been trying to find out whatever happened to getting a new skin for the forum

we love the forum itself, but instead of blue we'd like for the skin to be a nice shade of vines green - it's the little things, y'know?

Aww..cause green is Craig's favorite color.

A drooling smilie would come in handy for the Craig threads

I heard it used to be red but someone turned him onto green in 2002. Green is cool but I red.

I like the blue. The green is kinda over.

I think that a vine leaves motif around the edges would be nice...

^ i get what you're saying vinny, but i think that's more detail than will ever happen to the forum part of the site. people associate the color green with the vines, and that's what we want (whether it's considered over or not ).

obvs, the look of the other pages will change to accomodate the artwork on the new album, much as it did for WD - and we can't wait to see what that is going to look like.

Hmm I really don't like this skin...it's pretty dull. It's kinda the "default" forum color . I think red is kinda harsh.

As long as it isn't black I don't care really. Green is a soothing color so that would be OK. Although I don't mind this color at all.

I think it would be alot more inviting to new fans to have the forum have a Vines themed skin

that would indeed be even sweeter. i just don't want them to change the forum itself, because i like how we're able to link to specific posts here which you can't do on a lot of other forums.
