VU is my life and
my friends call me Nico cause I'm obsessed with her. I have a haircut like her and I wear heavy make-up and black clothes.
I've given all my friends names like Reed, Warhol, Cale, Edie, Jones etc. all the people's names that had been around her. *really obsessed* my fav song obviously Femme Fatale.

I don't know them. My friend once told me that Julian Casablancas tries to sound like Lou Reed. So, and there's Nico. That's all I know about them. And one of them looks like Carl Barât. (Or the other way round.)

I like it because it's soooo deep. that's what cigarettes do, I guess.

Haha, yes.
Loaded (their last album with Lou Reed) is brilliant too. It's a lot more guitar-
poppy and one of the songs is countryesque, placing it a million miles away from their debut. I guess the more simplistic sound was due to John Cale having left by then.
comradestripe: do what I did and get the banana box set-thingy. It'll probably be £20 in HMV's new year sale. It's fantastic.

I think the fact The Libertines and The Strokes like them very much is very interesting.
I've seen an interview with Carlitos where he says he did not like The Strokes at first because they said they like VU and sorta make the same music like them. He did not agree with that.
Also I remember some interview question:
What do you prefer - Pink Floyd or VU? Of course he said VU.
(well Pink Floyd's very okay as well)

When I first saw "Friends Of Mine" I thought: "The guy looks like Jim Morrison". Jim is great. Especially with his short hair like in the video "Light My Fire".

I think Loaded is pretty amazing...it has Sweet Jane, but then there's Who Loves The Sun (such a sweet song) and New Age is pretty cool, and of course, I Found A Reason. That song is amazing.
But my favorite is Heroin. Come to think of it, I haven't listened to Loaded in a while. I should...

Carlos likes The VU very much. He said if they were still together now, he'd have them playing on his party.
It sounded weird to me, too, cause he's English and I should think he'll say PF. But okay.

You are so fortunate you live in Berlin. She wasn't born there, she was born in Köln, but she spent a lot of time in Berlin. I've read somewhere mr Reed went to Berlin just because she was there.
Nico's songs are famous for being... well I won't say depressed but well... a bit sad and misunderstood. If you have the option to find her songs on the net I would recomend you songs like Chelsea Girls and My funny Valentine, then These days, I'm not saying. Then there are the 'deeper' ones like: It Was a Pleasure Then, My heart is empty, Evening Of Light.

It sounds wrong and redicolous to me. Even if people in my class speak english with a very german accent it gives me the creeps. It really annoys me.
Sure she didnt do that on purpose and its not that bad as with a lot of other musicans.
I just walked to be father to ask him and he was just listening to Lou Reed ^^. So, he saw her live in November 87... i didnt know her grave is in Berlin?? Is it? It said something like that in that article my dad put in the record.
