In the summer of 2004, Craig Nicholls was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome. As a result, Vines management - on the advice of doctors - have stated the Vines will never tour traditionally again. That means limited lives shows and touring, if any at all.

From 'Rock and a Hard Place' (November 2004)...
The Vines' managers, on advice from Dr. Tony Attwood, say the band will never undertake an extensive tour again. The occasional show is possible and Nicholls wants to perform but taking an Asperger's sufferer out of their routine or comfortable environment puts extraordinary stress on them. The band's labels, Capitol in the US and EMI in Australia, have professed 100 per cent support for the band and will release a third album Nicholls and his bandmates are writing.

I'm happy to update this thread with news that the Vines are about to announce some live shows!! Vines manager, Andy Kelly, will be announcing specific details soon, but the band have just recently performed two surprise sets - first, at the Annandale in Sydney, and then at the Splendour Festival in Byron Bay.

In an interview with Triple J, it was announced the band would be playing Reading/Leeds this year in the UK, and they also plan to do a few shows in Australia in September. To accomodate Craig, there will only be a limited number of performances.
