I'm made a topic of them, because nobody talk about them here (or nobody like them, it's your choice)
I find they are incredible, their music is really great, i think

!!!! And i have just bought 'Bullet in the Bible' yesterday : in one word : WONDERFUL
so if you like them,( or not), write everythink you want, like, 'how you knew them', 'what do you think about them' etc.

Why does everyone seem to hate
American Idiot?
Mo_Papparani
Nov 22 2005, 07:25 PM
because they slowed down....and their songs, even before then, started getting more poppy...

Nov 22 2005, 07:30 PM
WHAT?? i lovvvvvvvvvv American Idiot.
may-be some people don't like it because it's a little different from the old songs, but i like many songs of Green Day (even if i didn't listen to all of them yet)
In Nimrod, i love 'King for a Day', i saw it one the dvd

one of my favorite n'old' album is Warning
Rusty
Nov 22 2005, 07:39 PM
Actually, I like all their albums
Well, maybe except Dookie

(and I just LOVE Boulevard of Broken Dreams...the music and the lyric)
Reiyel
Nov 22 2005, 07:47 PM
You don't like Dookie?..mm yeah , it's a special one
in American Idiot, i must say that i really like all the Songs, but i specially like 'St Jimmy', and 'Whatsername' nearly makes me cry

I like some of their older stuff, around the Dookie era, but since then I think they've been going down hill.

Good Riddance makes me love them. Macy Days Parade makes me like them. And almost everything else makes me dislike or hate them.

I definately do like them. 'American Idiot' is not bad... but it's not my favorite. I do like the song 'Holiday' or whatever it's called as well as a few others, but I think it was overplayed

. 'Dookie' is my favorite album by them... but some of my favorite songs are on different albums... I really like 'The Grouch' off of 'Nimrod.' And.... I like a song from 'Warning'

yes, that was a crap album... but I love the song 'Minority'
Reiyel
Nov 23 2005, 01:33 PM
Warning is one of my favorite album..but i didn't listen all the album yet
Talking about difference, American Idiot has something really different from the others, but i think it's just a sort of 'evolution', or something like that, because it's an 'Opera'
When i listened to the old one i was like

, but it's also good. I think it's when you are used to something, and suddenly it changes

Reiyel
Nov 23 2005, 02:02 PM
but there is something under this clip video, it's not just to show a cute little couple of young people blablabla....
At first, it's true, i didn't think they were completely 'punk', but after watching them live, there is no doubt, they are!

I do like "Wake me up When September Ends" ...I don't know what it is about that song... I think it's just about a feeling that I've had before or something.

I used to like Wake Me Up... it's so catchy so it was the first song I liked when I just listened to the album. But now I get tired of it. It's just poppy. I like Give Me Novacain better, but afterall, I don't like this album.

Has any one heard of their really old album, "Kerpunk"? I think it's the best one. It was when they started out as three pale kids signed to an independent label. Now they are millionaires that are having cash shoved down their throats while producing this suck, sell-out music.
Reiyel
Nov 24 2005, 06:05 PM
Yeah, but don't you know that everythig change? or evoluate? they can't do the same things forever, 16 years past....but you seem to know them for a long time, and if i was at your place, i may react the same way....but i still don't think it's just an album made only to sell

changed gears and concentrated on polotics, i think they have sold alot of records
but i have lost abit of respect for them.

i have just thought of it today: if, for some of you, Green Day have changed, it may be because they wanted, with American Idiot, to talk about something serious, because of everything that happen in the world, in this moment.
(i'm asking myself how would be the next album...)

The new album is catchy and commercial so it got the best seller for Green Day.
That's kinda the reasons why I hate almost today popular music.

it may be "catchy" and "commercial" , not a lot of people around me know them. i even didn't know them for a long time, it's after watching the Disaster Touyr with Blink 182 (a band i didn't know before too
