These are the main ideas we came up with in the Sequel to OpVines thread. If you don't know what we're doing, we're going to make something as a group to send to The Vines after they release their new album. If you want to contribute, say you want to on that thread and I'll add you to the list. I'll expand on the ideas.

The first option: basically fans can video tape themselves and send them in as mpeg or some standard format, also what can be included in the DVD: art, pictures, comments, etc. And for those who want to send handwritten letters, we'll make a small book.

Second option: we'll make a large collage of pictures of the fans with things like CDs, the new CD, t-shirts, etc. Preferrably, the photo booth strips of pictures, but I think any can apply if you can't do that.

Third option: if you don't like what you see, GREAT! Post your idea here.

Vote because we want to make sure the majority is okay with what we're doing. After we get a significant amount of votes and there is a clear winner, we'll choose that as what we'll send The Vines.

ive voted for the second one because i think it will be easier for people who may not be able to send there things in they can easily scan photos and send them through email so they still have a chance to contribute

i picked the first one, i think its more creative, even if its more difficult to do it would be worth it once we got it together....if the people who knew how to do it put up a list of instructions for the people who didnt ( )we could get it all onto a DVD, though i wonder if it was a DVD would they watch it more than once...?

the poster is a good idear though, does that mean that art and photos would be on it and the letters would go with it in a book? and we would get it laminated? i think that would look cool, they could put it up in their house and have us staring at them all the time

also just pointing out for the first option just pointing out that the person putting all of these onto a dvd will need a dvd burner

oh yeah..um i dont have a normal camera ive only got one of those dvd handycams so like..can you put footage of one dvd onto another dvd? not sure..

oh yea, didn't think about the DVD burner, if we have to we can put it on CD, but I'm sure someone has one

I have a dvd burner and all the capabilities to create a dvd. People don't have to burn their own dvds. wmv, avi, etc. are fine file formats to email. And photos, artwork and letters can be scanned (I got one of them too).

Ah that's cool! So if we send files on our computers you may put them on a DVD all together? I just don't know what I could make on the computer....I mean I can't really do much of a video of me, just the crap thing on my digital camera . But that is nice...

I don't really know what I would actually, but yeah, people are talking about videos of themselves? I just don't know how good of one I could make with my digital camera.

I thought the way it was planned was that fans would send pics of themselves (even if they're from photo booths) of themselves with the new album (or any pose they choose). I don't think the band would consider their fans stalkers unless they camped out on their front door step.

I agree with Linda on that one. And simplydi-vine, I guess I thought you had the same idea of the creator of this thread, to take pictures of ourselves with the new album, etc.

im not sure about it yet but one of my ideas was to do a welcome to ew Zealand kind of thing where i take my camera and show them around New Zealand and show em all the cool stuff, the local talent, maybe persued em to come here

it'd probably be easier to send that to them directly if you were going to make your own DVD

Or we could all just do whatever we want.

That way, instead of us all sending the same things, we can each send something unique, that has meaning behind it. (I'm not saying that sending things without "uniqueness" doesn't have meaning - it obviously does. I'm just saying unique things are more interesting, and better. )

They have to be appropriate, though, of course..

But thats just me.. Idk if you guys all want to have it be just one big thing, where everyone sends repetitive same things, or if its more like individual, where everyone sends what they want, as long as they are good ideas, and are about The Vines.

It really doesn't matter to me. Just an idea... Or something..

I like the DVD idea. As long as someone is willing to put a lot of effort into organising all the artwork, so its easy to look through and not messy.

And I think it's best if we stick to one idea, this thing is getting way too complicated. We don't want to overwhelm them.

we have several volunteers for the photo thing including myself

Linda I think can handle the video, she has all the resources and said she wants to do it

don't worry if you're not computer savvy, you can mail your stuff (artwork, or whatever) and Linda can scan it and everything, so really you don't have to worry about it, no computer skills needed...the video part, I dunno how we can regulate that...it's a little more tricky

i think its a good idear to do both, then everyone is happy. we dont have much to decide if we do both eather, we just have to decide whos going to do what and how, its cool if lindas can do the DVD.
