HARRY POTTER OUT TODAY!!!!

yay!

yet i cannot go see it tonight so i have to see it in the week but still.

woohoo.
Venereal Disease
Came out today here and thanks to my mother for not calling the theatre to reserve tickets I can't go tonight. >.< Oh well, it's not like I'd enjoy it anyway, I'd be too cramped and I like my personal space. Being invited to invade my personal space is like getting a golden ticket to Willy Wonka's factory.
Colin_is_a_Phillover
It is out today, but I am going to see it tomorrow!
Thomhatesmusic
out on wedsnesda, hopeto see it in the weekend
kaleidoscope_eyes
It came out today and my sister is forcing me to see it and I really don't want to. I'll probably cry of shame and piss off everyone in the theatre coz I'll be criticising every little thing and constantly saying "WHAT? That's not how it goes! It's actually like this....BLAH BLAH BLAH". You know what I mean?
Maxwell Demon
was anyone else EXTREMELY disappointed with the new movie

they really needed to split it into 2 movies as they were proposing a couple years ago

I'm not saying it was a BAD movie it was very funny, entertaining, and had great effects

It just strayed so much from the book and left out some lovable characters and yadda yadda
I must say though
the dragon and the graveyard scenes were awesome
Colin_is_a_Phillover
I've just seen it. It is ace. In my opinion better than all films before. All Harry Potter films.

I don't say "No, they cut that out" because it would drive me crazy. I just accept the film like it is.

And as I said, I think is better than the films before, in my opinion.

I don't know about you... But... It was really good. I was kind of paralyzed when I left the cinema.
wonkytooth
we went to see 'walk the line' instead last nite. wink.gif

i'm going sometime over the thanksgiving hols to see 'goblet,' so i can't pass judgment until then. i ran into some students who were coming out of the movie, and they said it was really great, they were gonna see it again, etc. but i see where you're coming from lizzy, and i've wondered if they bit off more than they can chew by stuffing so much into one movie. unsure.gif
Colin_is_a_Phillover
Walk The Line ohmy.gif With...

ohmy.gif The Johnny Cash one?

Goodness me, with Johnathan Rice as the young Roy Orbison.

Was it good?

In fact: I didn't know it was out.
wonkytooth
^ that's the one! biggrin.gif

i just wrote up a review in the movies thread - in a nutshell, excellent. it opened here in the states yesterday - definitely go see it when it comes near you. smile.gif
Colin_is_a_Phillover
ohmy.gif I think it should be out. ohmy.gif Thank you. I have to watch it.
kata
i love it too!although my friends make fun of me because they don't like it...i don't really give a fuck.I still like it very very much!I love all the books..and in a way I'm sad cause the 7th is the last.I don't want the magic to end!

It was mostly rubbish if you compare it to the book
WAY WAY too fast paced
I mean there wasn't any buildup of the story it was just like a bunch of random exciting events they just weren't linking the things together well and then the graveyard scene and then a 10 minute or so ending.
it was just a HUGE book crammed into 2 1/2 hours...they could have at least made it 3 hours or into 2 movies
10 minutes into it you were already a third of the way through the book
The Quiddich World cup scenes were absolute rubbish
they totally left out characters like The Dursleys, Ludo Bagman, Winky, Dobby, and Bill, Charlie, and Percy.
and they left out alot of my favorite parts in the book
I mean it just went too fast for me to get into the whole triwizard tournament
and they continually strayed from the book to up the dramatics and special effects when they could have rounded off the story better

I mean if I were to have never read the book I would have just come on here and said "Hey that was a cool movie, very exciting and stuff" but I just had much greater expectations for it.
Ava Adore
ohmy.gif no dursleys??

that means no exploding living room sad.gif

sometimes when i read the 5tth and 6th book im like.... i wonder if ill ever get to see that part in the movie sad.gif

I loved it.... It was entertaining. The only thing I didn't like was how uncomfortable I was the whole fucking time. Want to know why? I'll tell you. A] My mother was sitting right beside me because she refuses to let me go alone B]The whole fucking theatre was full. >.< I don't like being around too many people.

I still say
as a movie fan, it was great
as a harry potter fan, it was rubbish

they barely developed Harry and Sirius's relationship at all, just the one conversation in the fire
no hogsmeade visits
no levitating muggles at the QWC
no veelas
no obstacles in the final maze
no blast ended skrewts
not much in the way of the whole rita skeeter problem
barely any of the ups and downs in the Hagrid/Madam Maxine relationship
no one finding out Hagrid is part giant
nothing about Weasley Wizard Weezies or however its spelt
no "parting of the ways" in the end which leads you up to the next book/movie

I mean pretty much all the scenes were the triwizard tournament, the little blip of the quidditch world cup, the little blip of the yule ball, and the graveyard scene
there was none of the stuff in between

and worst of all, I absolutely HATE the way they are developing Dumbledore's character
hes supposed to be calm, cool, and comtemplative
not this madman who has angry rages and pretty much attacks harry asking how his name got in the goblet of fire...for Christ's sake...

oh, but did anyone else notice that Barty Crouch Jr. looks an awful lot alike Matthew Bellamy?
1234hi5
Shit, they missed alot out! Did they have the whole conflict between Harry and Ron, when Ron was jealous? Wonder how they're gonna follow on with the next book.. imagine how much they're going to miss out of the 5th book!

I'm still gonna see it though. I love hp smile.gif

NOT??????

Oh, ok, I just thought you said they didn't have that in the whole book.
They could ve let out the whole bathing scene and all that for me because THIS was one of the most important scenes for me in the book. I readit three times in a row. rolleyes.gif

Yeah, they did cut a lot out and that was shit.
devonevoabevon
i saw the midnight premiere
haven't had time to talk about it much yet
and its 830 in the morning
and im up
because i slept over at school last night
but anyway
i really liked it. the movie that is. except the ending. i was just like "please dont be over please dont be over " but then it was
and i was a little disappointed but
i relaly liked what they did have
except for when harry beat voldy again. that scene deuling wasn't fantastic enough.
the death eaters were pretty effi n sweet though.
and where the butt were the houselves? i know you cant fit everything in but come on
thats sort of a key part of the story no?
and the maze, there was nothing in it really. like, it was scary because it was empty but
it was a little . .. ehhhhh.

cedric=major hottiez
cho change = major nottiez
ronald = beast wub.gif
hermione = it was lame that in the 3rd movie they made her all hot because in this one it wasn't that big of a deal at the ball etc. . .
krum = brotastic

what happened to him saying hermione all silly? i was looking forward to that.

hmmm
i did enjoy it though. mostly because of ronald.

made them look like the KKK
which really emphasizes the horrible cause they kill for

dry.gif I thought Barty Crouch Junior is fit...

laugh.gif

The Death Eaters also reminded me of the KKK. Well, I think their organisation is pretty similar. OK, they don't have dark marks on their arms, but...

Yeah, not good for a Harry Potter fan... No, I am pretty much into the stuff and really liked the film though. mellow.gif

laugh.gif Ihatemusic. laugh.gif Well... They are cute. sad.gif

And after the film and after another girl said what I thought: Cedric IS fit. I mean in the film. laugh.gif Well, we had a little argument about that in here.

i sort of imagined him looking like the cartoon from the "bother bother bother" etc . . . wherever the butt that is on the interweb.
hahahaha

i need to read the book again.
just so i can be less sad about the lack of house elves.
i think i would have preferred atleast a couple minutes of stuff with them atleast like rita
but i do kind of understand why the left them out completely because it could have been like . . . 2347374023785023 minutes longer if they were included. i guess.
i want to see it again so i can see what i missed the first time seeing it.
