I've got an audition coming up Monday. I need something either jazzy, or early slower rock'n'roll, something maybe Beatles style, or something just kind of concert-like. I'm considering a couple of Beatles songs, but I'm really blank on the subject, so what should I sing? Nothing too high though, I'm an alto, and I can do pretty normal range guy songs, hence I'm considering the beatles.

i usually do "diamonds are a girl's best friend" but that's just me and my auditions

This friend is one of those types who think nothing is ever their fault.
She got super pissed at me for not inviting her along when a friend slept over a month ago. She still brings it up and says she's disappointed in me for "lying to her", then called me immature for not telling her. I didn't want to hurt her feelings, which is why I didn't tell her. I thought it was the right thing to do.

Now we just got in a huge fight..and i called her on lying about which bands she likes, her made up story about a drug problem, and her made up story of what she did with a guy this summer. I said those were the exact same things as what she got so mad at me for "lying" about. She said that mine was way different, and worse..because her lies were "none of my business." But isn't my social life also none of her business?

Am I just being unreasonable or is she hard to deal with because nothing is ever her fault?

ahhhso shes the type that hops on the latest thing in the music world... that bugs me especially if its a band that you really love. all the sudden they become cool and you get people wearing the shirts and shit when all theyve heard is the single.

I've owned a Strokes shirt for ages... after she saw "reptilia" on mtv, she ran out and bought "Is This It?" and "Room On Fire" , memorized every song, went out and bought the exact same shirt as me, and then rubbed it in my face by claiming to have liked them first.

Of course I would have gotten mad, especially when I caught her just a few weeks earlier calling The Strokes drunks. I mean, it's true but people who enjoy the music tend not to bring it up every chance they get.

Ew, I've had friends like that. Horrid. If I were in a situation like this one again, I'd go out of my way to humiliate her in the exact same way she does you. It might not be the perfect solution, but it sure as hell makes you feel better. Besides. She TOTALLY deserves it, for what I've read.

You don't need people like that, so I'd say to let her do what she wants. She sounds like a complete idiot. However, if it's going to cause ructions elsewhere - and I mean with other friends, not parents - you may have to pretend to think she's alright. Just use her as an icing sugar friend.
