it is a great poster, i got it from ebay, it was only about $12 i think (not including postage) but my dad payed . i took ages to get it, i thought i wouldnt come, but it was sent to my dads adress and he had it for a while, i was so happy when i got it

Jen was there when he gave me it. It was the most amazing thing and I was so honored. He also signed my promo photo and his name was mispelled on it so he corrected it with marker. It was funny but you had to be there. Hamish is just a great guy.

I know, he really is the sweetest . I love that he corrected his name - let me guess - an extra 'm'? He was so sweet when I got to meet him after Bigphallica, the way he talks to you is as if you're the most important person in the world. You can't help but wonder if you're really that interesting . He really is the greatest guy.

I love those piccies too. Nice memories attached to them, even if the one with Hamish was taken on the afternoon of their cancelled Metro show. He was telling me how he had to come and pick up some of their equipment (he'd driven a van up). I thought: "The drummers are always the suckers."

I was there too, but I didn't see Hamish (I tried to get there really early, but got lost for 2 hours ) So I got there a bit before 6pm. That's so great that you got to see Hamish that day, and it really shows what a great guy Hamish is that he took time out to pose for photos right in the middle of one of the most uncertain times The Vines had gone through. My opinion of the guy just keeps going up .

And rightly so. I was a bit hesitant to ask him to sign things and have a photo because of the situation, but he gave off that really nice, sweet, friendly Hamish vibe, so I knew he was giving the "ok".

believe it or not, the guys still really wanted to play the show that night - mgmt went on and cancelled. as much as it sucked for you guys, mgmt did the right thing in my opinion. craig may have felt better than day, but with all the fuss and fall-out from the night before, it's probably best they didn't play - what if a group had been obnoxious to them and emotions spilled over again?

but that's great you've got to meet up with pat and hamish at different times, joey. cool pics too. they really are nice guys.

Saying "meet up" sounds like Patrick, Hamish and I had planned to meet up.

And I totally agree with you, Jen. I was never disappointed about the cancelled show, just sad about the situation. I'm glad they went on hiatus. They're all the better for it as we can see from the pics from Operation Vines.

As much as I'd have loved to see the guys that night, I'm sure it was for the best that they didn't play as well. I wouldn't have been surprised if a group of people had started to be rude in the concert if it had gone ahead. I remember a group of people hanging around the door completely slagging Craig off . I guess they were probably angry about the gig being cancelled, but they obviously didn't have much respect for the guys. I'd rather see the band when they're happy and in a positive atmosphere instead of what it was like back then. They were - or at least Craig was, worn out and over it, with all the negative things that had happened the day before hanging over their heads.
I'm so glad that's behind them now and things are looking good again .
