well I heard that Pelle made some comment at the begining their performance at the VMA's that made it seem like he thought they were better than the vines or something

but cockiness is a bit of a trademark for the hives

Yes indeed there is a little rivalry between these 2 bands...

There was a concert in which the Hives play 1 song first and then the Vines 1 song [in this case "Main Offender" and "Get Free"].

After the Hives' song, the frontman stepped up to the microphone and said:
"I know u want us to play more! ...but thats all we got so u can turn off now!"

I have the video, I saw it. And it is obvious that there is tension between these 2 bands.

Err...no. That was a fake "rivalry" set up and played on the MTV Video Awards.

both bands were interviewed live before the vmas, and they both said it was all in fun (and made for good exposure ).

btw, the strokes were supposed to have been a part of that 'battle of the garage bands' thing too, only they didn't play because they claim mtv wanted them to cut a minute of their song due to time. um, seeing as most strokes songs are barely 2-3 minutes long, tops, i'm doubting that. whatevs.

HAHA ! sorry, just pictured myself someone saying "pelle" with an american accent the hives are great, and, they're from sweden. so am I!! the hives make fun of a lot of bands, so we shouldn't worry about the vines, after all, they're much better than the hives
