He was supposedly in an institution a few months ago but then was at his court case and seen at a Music show. He might be doing outpatient stuff somewhere. Its well known hes getting some kind of treatment for the Asperger's.

Haven't they been mixing the 13 demos they've just recorded? Unless their management has been lying, and Hamish was lying in the interview with DTI, then I really doubt that it's true.
I'm pretty sure Patrick's out for good, but everything from reliable sources suggests Ryan, Craig and Hamish are still together and even recording music at the moment. Don't stress out, the rumour is probably just that - a rumour. With no truth to it at all *crosses fingers to be safe* .

^They haven't started recording the next album yet, Craig played the bass parts in the demos they just recorded.
Is it really that much of a tragedy if he goes? He was obviously miserable with The Vines - he's happy with Youth Group. When ever you heard about tension in the band it was always between Craig and Patrick (I don't blame Patrick for getting annoyed with Craig - but you never heard about Hamish or Ryan chasing Craig down the street trying to punch him). So maybe it's best this way - a happier Patrick in Youth Group, and maybe a happier Vines.
But yeah, like Lizzy said, nothing is official yet - so you never know Vinny, you might get your wish . *watches a pig fly past her window*

^ When it says 'institution' I don't think it means straight jacket and padded cell . Probably more like a psych ward of a hospital or just a psychiatrists office. He's been recording music lately, there's obviously nothing too seriously wrong with him .

as far as Craig being in an institution...well it wouldn't suprise me if he has spent some time at one, but not like people who are completely unable to function because they are mentally ill. I mean he is totally able to function...just trying to get some control and feel better saying Craig is "intitutionalized" is completely wrong I'm sure. I doubt people took him to an institution and left him there to live

Its hard to say if it's because of the disorder that makes him obsess, cause generally when someone has a talant or gift, or is reeeeally good at something, one generally becomes obsessed with it. It's just natural.

Yeah they finished that a couple of weeks ago - they probably would have finished mixing by now as well. I wonder how long it'll take Craig to write his next set of demos? Hmmmm.... . I'm basing this on absolutely nothing - I'm just pulling it out of my ass; but I'm thinking it'll take another 5 months to write another 8 - 10 demos - a month to record and mix them - then I'm guessing a month off then maybe 3 months to record the next album - then 1 to 2 months till the first single and then another month till the album is released. So maybe a new album in about a year from now?
I think I'm getting a bit ahead of myself here . And I've gone a bit off topic, oh well .

hamish is broke though. it was published somewhere....cause in a drummer's magazine he put out an ad for jobs. and in an interview he did for dti he said he was living with his parents with no money.

Yeah but my friend saw him in public like a week before the rumors surfaced. So I figured that they either were untrue, he was doing an outpatient thing, or he was in some kind of inpatient program where he could leave to do stuff if he liked.

Even though there is no treatment for AS I'm sure that therapy of some kind can help a bunch. didn't the court order him to continue to get "treatment" to manage this?

yeah it could have been some kind of court ordered inpatient or outpatient thing. Theres always the chance that he went into treatment sometime after my friend saw him.

no my friend doesn't live in Sydney, he lives here but visits his aunt in Sydney a couple times a year...hes my prince
