I downloaded some songs a while ago, one was "the whiteroom" it was supposedly by the vines but I know it wasn't. I also got "Paint it black", the one I downloaded was obviously a cover and was not the rolling stones but I didn't sound like the vines either, it said it was by the vines.
Did the vines acutally do either of these songs?

I think both were by another band called The Vines. Neither were done by The Vines we know.

yeah i donwloaded that paint it black too. and i didnt know you could listen to the song on limewire before it was finished. it took like 3 hours to donwload and i was soooo angry

one time i was looking for songs to download and i saw an unknown song by the vines. but when i downloaded it, it turns out to be by the hives.

i cant trust limewire. did the strokes ever do a cover of run run run cos it sounds like them but the words are wrong to the actual version of run run run. its really off.

What I've heard is that The Vines actually did sing it...they didn't make it of course. They just sang it...but I've never heard it or that verson...=p *shrugs*

No no no. The only cover they've done so far is Ms Jackson. Though apparently someone heard them playing You Really Got Me by The Kinks in the soundcheck before a gig a couple of years back. No recordings though.

the "Paint it Black" cover claiming to be by The Vines on Limewire is actually by GOB...I heard it on RadioAOL before I downloaded the one supposedly by The Vines and the artist name was GOB--I dunno who GOB is, but they did that cover of the song...as for the other song, I dont know about it...

I have "Ms. Jackson" I really like it, its a little repetitive though... I wish he would have sang all the lyrics of the original song.

gob is one of those pop-punk bands. i heard it too. i knew it was gob right away judging by the voice.

Personally I like both song by their original artists.

Have not heard the covers...
