speaking of aussies and southerners...allie, justine and i had a fun time discussing accents when i visited in june - especially how i say 'craig' versus how aussies say his name. i pronounce his name like 'crEGG' (rhymes with egg) while in oz it's 'crAYg' with a long 'a' sound. guess who's saying it incorrectly?

And speaking of aussies and southern accents, i thought nicole kidman did a fine job of her southern accent in cold mountain. I think i only heard her slip up once.

i'm not sure how most americans pronounce it, but i say 'cregg' with a flat e sound. allie might can describe how i say it better since she had such a high old time making fun of me...

Yep, Jen says it like "Creg" - like 'egg', with a 'Cr' in front . I miss your accent Jen! It really is the greatest - although sometimes I'd have a hard time understanding you. I always had to concentrate when I spoke to you . I can understand normal American accents like Maddies fine - but I'd never spoken to someone with a southern accent till I met Jen, and there aren't many, if any tv shows where people have Southern accents - so it was a little more difficult. Although apparently I sound really southern when I attempt an American accent .
Oooh and Jen, do you mind uploading that little sound clip again? I think it's expired or something - well the page that comes up asks me to bookmark yousendit and I can't see a link to the download. Or maybe I'm just retarded and can't see what's right in front of my face .

i didn't realize my accent was that thick. then again, i seem to remember asking you to repeat a few things because sometimes i couldn't catch everything you said. whenever we were fangirling over the vines (most of the time!), things would only get worse!

And yeah, maybe it's just that I'm not too used to Southern accents - but I remember you telling me about how you'd put on your accent really strong and see if Justine's dad said anything. Then you gave an example of a 'strong' accent and I was thinking - you know - this sounds like normal . I know Maddie has to ask me to repeat things sometimes too - I think I speak too fast and I tend to blur words together sometimes - like most Aussies . But even my Australian friends need to ask me to repeat myself sometimes, so it's not just you .

I've pronounced it both Crayg and Cregg. It's Cregg when I'm being lazy and Crayg when I'm not.

A friend of mine from the South has a twangy accent and when she came to visit me, I swear I started to sound like her.

Im like that. I pick up on accents extremely quick. Even if i start listening to craig in interviews alot, all of a sudden i find myself talking with a craig accent.

I remember my grandmother asking me things like, "Tu quieres conflay?" meaning cornflakes, or "Tu quieres i creeng?" meaning ice cream. I guess that's Spanglish. Too funny.

Whenever I visit my cousins (who live a county away from me) I start to use incorrect grammer.

I've always pronouned Craig's name as ...Craig. Haha. I can't really explain it...it's like with the long 'A' sound...so..like..."Crayyg", or whatever, as if I'm saying "hey" in between the 'Cr' and the 'G', minus the 'H' sound in "hey" though. That was confusing. Almost everyone that talks to me says something about how I talk and say things...too slurred, too fast, too something...

Some people around here pronounce it like "Cregg", I guess it kind of depends on where you're from/how you usually talk and junk like that. I think, either way you pronounce it, it's right. Sounds okay to me, both ways.
