I found a Puma jacket online that looks exactly like Craig's, you know the black and green one he wears sometimes. But the only snag is it's in the wrong colour. It's like really bright red and orange instead of black and green. Poop. I came so close. ;-;

^ Some people celebrate halloween here - but not many. I used to go trick or treating around my old street, no-one ever comes trick or treating where I live now though. I remember when I had halloween in the USA, I was 6, and it was such a huge thing! I was so shocked, we even dressed up for school (I was a fairy), and when we went trick or treating my entire bag was filled up with candy. I was very disappointed in halloween the next year when I was back in Aus .
It would've been so cute if Craig had dressed up and gone trick or treating . Although for some reason, I can't picture it actually happening.

Did you know that Hallowe'en is actually an old Celtic festival of the dead?

We celebrate All Saints' Day (that's November 1) and we visit the graves and light candles...cemeteries are quite a spectacular sight on that day...a bit uncanny tho' ... and on the whole it's a very solemn day for us

Yeah I did know that . So have you guys adopted the type of commercial Halloween the Americans have? Or do you just do the traditional stuff on the 1st Nov.? That sounds so creepy, I think I'd rather do that than go trick or treating now (not when I was a kid though - any excuse for chocolate and I'd be there ).

Not quite yet, although you can see quite a big number of carved pumpkins on sale, or in window displays in various shops along with little witches and bats, so something is happening
We have Valentine's Day now and we also celebrate St Patrick's Day! I'm happy about THAT (If you saw the things that go on in our Irish pubs on that day )

Maybe in a few years' time we'll be going trick-or-treatin', who knows

Well, we were always told it was a Mexican thing, were they'd carve sugar skulls with people's names on them. And dress up as spirits, and that evovled into dressing into scary things, and then that evolved into dressing up into what ever the hell you wanted to. But here in Illinois, we get started on our holidays really early. Some stores already have Thanksgiving stuff out. Oh wait, you guys don't have Thanksgiving..

I want to dress up this halloween 'cos I think it's fun to be someone else for a day. My neighbours must all think I'm nuts, I'm well above the age where you lose interest in halloween. I don't even like the candy, bleh.

It's not Mexican. Hallowe'en is actually the ancient Celtic Samhainn. It was the festival of the dead and it was also the Celtic New Year's Day. It was taken over by the Christian Church as All Saints' Day. The Mexican thing is simply the continuation of this ancient tradition.

When I got my zip-up Vines sweater a few weeks ago, it was freakin' HUGE! I was so dissapointed. I got a small in men's size and it totally engulfs me. But, it is comfy....
