I've just been to this outdoors rave/techno festival in a city called Grenaa here in DK. We saw this guy who's sadly quite known in Germany and DK for his techno music or dance, I dunno what his music qualifies under. DJ Alligator

Hmm, it was interesting, I must say. Not my kinda taste in music at all, but it was fun anyways. Lotsa weird people and alcohol
I had such a great time!

I went to see Coldplay a while back, but I was more excited about the fact that Supergrass were supporting. Turns out, Coldplay are actually brilliant live; not at all boring. I was mildly surprised to say the least.
The only thing that spoilt it was the stupid drunken gits around me.

with you on that one, saw coldplay a few years ago...surprised me, too.....amazing.....so much energy and passion!!! was supposed to see them in ireland last month and couldn't make it, but my friends told me it was good---but the light show with it was lost because it was outdoors....

I've just been to splendour in the grass and it was great.

Interpol, Athlete, Bloc Party, Shihad, Beautiful Girls and especially Queens of the Stone Age were the best for me. The Queens got an encore and came back on to play for like 10 minutes which was awesome

they played the blood is love i think at one stage and it sounded so creepy and good

okay...yesterday was the first day of lollapalooza....here is how it went for me:
i went early to see Redwalls...and i must admit i got sidetracked by Warlocks---who impressed me with their sound....i really enjoyed their show. then on to ...And You Will Know us by the Trail of Dead-----balls out rock! the drummers were awesome!! and at the end of their gig, while the roadies were loading up, the guitar player was still playing....Kaiser Cheifs---even though the lead singer had pratically lost his voice, they were high energy and fun! they brought some girl up on stage to sing a song because she had been singing along the whole show!....Brain Jonestown Massacre----what can i say? the lead singer was definately wacked out on something, higher than a kite!!! he was pissed because dashboard confessional's set was overpowering them....it was amusing to say the least.....the Bravery----if the lead singer would just shut up about new york and his ex-girlfriends, i probably would have enjoyed it better---dude, MEMO: you are in chicago and no one gives a shit about your love life!......Billy Idol---he really showed how it should be done. steve stephens, his old sidekick, was playing with him! it was great!....and i swear he must have found the fountain of youth---his body was that of a twenty year old-----and he made a comment about once having his finger up madonna's butt---now, THAT is the sort of stuff ya talk about on stage

.....after that---the Pixies, and of course, they sounded great!....Weezer played at the end---just watched just a bit....i had been there 10 hours by that point and ready for my pillow...
well, leaving early today to see OK Go....excited about that! let ya know how the rest of it was tomorrow!

no, they didn't...that was the one thing about this lollapalooza that sucked.....usually, artists would jam together---none of that going on at this one....kinda blowed that way.....i think if it was set up a little better it would have been more possible, maybe? a lot of "bleeding" going on----the stages were just too close to each other.

The Lowlands festival.
But it's gonna suck: Patrick Wolf and The Dresden Dolls at the same time, Kaiser Chiefs and The Subways at the same time AND The Polyphonic Spree and The Rakes at the same time. And the other acts aren't very interesting (except for Franz Ferdinand, of course). Geez.

i saw hot hot heat w/ eisley last week. eisley made me want to put a gun to my head and end everything (they're like shoe-gazer music X 100), while hhh certainly have lots of energy and can get a crowd moving, but after awhile...every song sounded the same. if you've heard a hhh album, you know there's not a lot of variety.
next up...vans warped tour. i'm getting there late cos i'm only interested in seeing the transplants and my chemical romance. me and all the teenies...that's okay.

I went to see a Led Zeppelin tribute band last night (called Whole Lotta Led...good name) and they absolutely rocked it! God they were good. I actually think they were the real thing

?
Also, I found the singer strangely sexy despite the fact he's old enough to be my father and looks a bit like Justin Hawkins (with much better teeth), bleuch. I think it was the rock 'n' roll swagger and Rolling Stones tattoo that did it for me.
I feel violated.
EDIT: Oh and let's not forget the tight trousers.

The next gig I'm attending will probably be Rufus Wainwright in november.
