I don't know if there are any fans of The Libertines around here who've seen this, but in the Pete Welsh biography of them that was published this week, Pete Doherty talks a bit about how they supported The Vines at their Brighton show in 2002. Everybody knows that, but I thought this was worth posting anyway, as he makes a really sweet/sad mention of Craig:
"...Something as simple as Craig Nicholls from The Vines coming down and listening to our soundcheck, and dancing to our soundcheck, really set me at ease, and ever since then, it's always been really important that support bands, and bands we go on tour with, are good people. Yeah, that quite impressed me and whatever happened since then, whatever tantrums he had and when he didn't give me much weed, I'll always remember him in his little Adidas top dancing around to 'Boys in the Band'. I didn't see anything of his supposed madness, what I did see signs of was the people around him giving him every opportunity to act like that, excluding people from him that maybe he might have liked to have met. No one's ever been able to control me like that."
Aww.

awww, that's soo cute!
and it sounds very very true. the media wants him to have tantrums and act "spoiled"...such a bunch of bullshit.
From what I've heard he's a pretty low key, nice guy...I think things only get kind of crazy when something happens that's out of order or something.
And I can totally see him dancing to their sound check! just bouncing around

I remember hearing about how recently he was hiding side stage during a The Music concert (I think they are good friends) and he was just dancing and clapping and bouncing around

I think he's a pretty happy person

Awww... that quote bought back memories from when I saw Craig 'dance' at The Music

. He wasn't wearing his 'little adidas shirt' though, he was wearing his single motorcycle glove. *goes and looks at her photos* So cute

.
Edit:
I saw this smiley somewhere

. That's a lot like how Craig danced, except he was twisting around a bit as he jumped and had some weird facial expressions too

.

Wow, that's really beautiful.
I really believe that all this tantrum crap was blown so much out of proportion and i think comments like this prove that Craig really is a happy, pleasant and respectful person to be around.

Revived this topic cos I found out that the Libertines book apparently has different names in different countries. In Australia, it's called "Stop At Nothing: The Libertines" but the UK one, as you may be aware, is called "Kids In The Riot: Highs and Lows with The Libertines".
I'm pretty sure it's the same book cos it has the same ISBN (184449716X), but the Australian version apparently has 208 pages (according to the Angus & Robertson website) while the UK version has 216 pages...
Hmm...
