Besides his extreme attention-seeking nature, an equally significant reason he behaves as he does on stage is because he really can't sing live very well, hence the dying cat screeches, wild antics, "syndromes" etc. to cover the fact up that he needs studio magic to sound decent. They are a band that should perform live as little as possible. Of course the instrumentalists hold their own live. They really are fucked without Patrick. Now that's really probally why they've stopped playing live.

I think Craig has a great voice - the AOL sessions and the Le Printemps de Bourges concert are just two examples of many, that show that Craig - when he puts his mind to it - can sing and put on a damn good show (of course I think all performances by The Vines are brilliantly awesome ). The idea that Craig was diagnosed with Asperger's purely because "he really can't sing live very well" is a little stupid... to say the least.
They can hire a basist for live shows, so I don't see Patricks departure as a reason for not playing either.
The band has been through a lot over the past couple of years, it's only natural that they'd be cautious about getting back into playing shows.

Hmm...I think that he does have a little bit of a hard time with pitch live sometimes and might get frustrated and start singing purposely out of tune or whatever. But i totally agree with Ali, he can sing really nice live as well. And what's with the thing about 'syndromes' to cover up the fact he 'can't sing well live'? that makes no sense at all

craig HAS the most beautiful voice ever seen ! he sings very well in studio and in live but that's when he wants ! if i doesn't sing very well that's because he wants ! it does it like he feels it ( that's my opinion !)
