Agreed....he was really nice when I met him at the venue and on stage he just oozes "I don't smile/talk/do much of anything just because I'm oh so cool"
FuriousWank
Nov 18 2004, 03:03 PM
He's too cool for school. He's Cool City. I still haven't met him

EDIT - i did meet Carl! Briefly! I forgot.. it was at Glasto this year, but he hardly said anything..

Pete and Carl...Carl was doing the Rolling Stone interview instead of hanging around the venue grrr

Nov 18 2004, 03:09 PM
This is getting confusing. I met Carl at Glasto and i collared Pete outside a Babyshambles gig on my birthday this year and got a photo with him
EDIT - and before, i thought you were talking about Carl, not John. Sorry, i'm still asleep

Well the only member I've met is Jawn.
If (if...) they're still doing stuff by next summer (or Glasto maybe) I will stalk them down in England.

Yeah seriously, the only one I know is Carl is sometime in June...or is it May? and I don't know the year, he's somewhere between 25 and 27.

Peter is 25 and Carl is 26 I think.

Are there any other dates added with Babyshambles? I remember reading somewhere there was...I was going to say that they should come to the states but no...unless Carl and Gary and Jawn are with Peter, and Gemma and Patrick and whatever other loser isn't.
*ponders* Carl is only 9 years older than me...good good...I mean...*un-ponders* Just an observation

I somehow doubt Babyshambles will ever play outside England. Pete doesn't really give a shit about anywhere else, and frankly, they're just not that good.

Oh and one more thing...I was organizing my Libs pictures today (shut up...I have too many of them and I was bored at 7 in the am) and I stumbled upon this one from a magazine possibly? I don't label things well...anyways, it doesn't seem "real" like the faces look like wax...what do you think? It's been bugging me because it would be an awesome picture if it was "real"...

Pete did say he snogs Carl when Carl's asleep in that Sadie Frost interview, so he's at least a little bit gay.

He lived in those places when he was a kid and had no choice. He's said he doesn't care to be known anywhere besides England.

Nov 22 2004, 07:56 PM
yeah but still he still tours them places with the libs well used to. but you didnt have to say that he didnt give a shit come on petes a nice person hes a wee dote
Tinkerbell
Nov 22 2004, 08:14 PM
It has nothing to do with whether he's nice or not. Lots of people are nice but would still rather just stay home. And he basically did say he doesn't give a shit about the rest of it. He cares about England, but doesn't care to be a rockstar to the rest of the world. And whatever the fuck a wee dote is I'm sure he's one of those too.
Young and hopeless

a wee dote is like "awwh pete's so cute, hes just perfect in every way and so innocent" therefore petes a wee dote!

I got The Libertines (as in the second album) a month or so ago, in my usual way of waiting til some of the fuss has died down so that I can make a proper assessment of an album, and I was pretty disappointed with it. There are a few songs that I like, but the rest of it seems rather dull and ungrabbing, BUT I've only listened to it a few times, so I was wondering if anyone else had to repeat-listen to it and found that it grew on them. ie Can anyone with an opinion I can value suggest that it bears repeated listens, or is it fairly immediate, and if I haven't enjoyed it by now, I won't?

I know what you mean - it definitely had to 'grow' on me. But once it did I was glad I bought it. 'Can't Stand Me Now' was the only choon I loved immediately.
Can't get enough pics of Carl and Pete cuteness, btw

Jan 31 2005, 06:04 PM
It's definitely not a love at first listen sort of album, at least not for me. Although there are a couple songs I loved immediately, most of it I just liked. Definitely nowhere near as good as UTB. It does grow on you though, except for Don't Be Shy which is complete shit no matter how many times I hear it. Shame too, as it's probably the last we'll hear of the Libertines...

Jan 31 2005, 06:10 PM
Yes, I really don't like Don't Be Shy. Why would you ever think that sounded good?
I just can't quite see the point of letting it grow on me when I could take it back and get something else I'd really like.
Tinkerbell

Perhaps if you're a smack/crack addict Don't Be Shy is the greatest song ever written. Otherwise it's a complete mystery how this ended up on a record.

Don't be shy is (IMO) a very lovely song and I love the part when Carl starts to sing.
Also I didn't have any problems with listening to The Libertines album. I've loved it for the very first time I heard it.
My fav songs are The last post on the bugle and The ha ha wall. Just LOVE them!
