I normally don't just go and buy an album because I like one song of it

i do that usually all the time.

Munich, despite being called after a hype city I'm not too fond of,

oh, really??
QUOTE
Another one of my favourites on this record is another faster song and probably a indie dance floor filler. If I was there it would be.

well done. *claps hands*
Thomhatesmusic
Thanks.

Yeah, I start doing that, too. CD-addicts... ah.

What? you didn't know I don't like Munich?
Ms.teenageDonVito
haha, i donīt even know what "doch" means in english.

but I knew that you donīt like Munich.(Who does? haaaaaaaa ha.)
isnīt that called irony? mellow.gif
Thomhatesmusic
Doch is "Yes". I found that quite dissapointing when I found out.

Which Munich now? I'm really confused.
Ms.teenageDonVito
Uh, how sad.

I mean the city, not the song. ( you said 'hype CITY')
Thomhatesmusic
Yeah, indeed. I actually read it again to check if I didn't say I don't like the song. It is a "cool" city.
They even mentioned it in King of Queens mad.gif

Ms.teenageDonVito
What did they mention in King of Queens?
"cool" city? What does that mean? mellow.gif

I have listened to The Beatles' "1" again... And... I must say... The songs on it are all pretty simple and the music is lovely. Although the CD only includes the number one hits.

Editors are trying to sound more cryptic than they are and look cooler and darker than they sound like. Their first album The Back Room shows that this band from Birmingham actually has some potential but doesn't fulfil it. They can be a lot of fun if played loud but everyone saying "Oh, the new Smiths!" should burn in hell.

Oh, it is worth looking in here again. laugh.gif

The new Smiths. laugh.gif They are just a new band, not the new Smiths. There is nothing like... "The new Beatles" or all that... Even though I like to compare the Ramones to the Beatles... laugh.gif

You don't seem to be too positive about the album, Lea.

Anyway...

I tried to get into Kasabian's debut album, but I just couldn't. I am sure they could do much better... Let's wait until their next album. laugh.gif

No, not really.

Why do you think they could do better?

My old review of Winning Days on Ultimate-Guitar.com.

Sound: The Vines - Winning Days has great sound, you can really distinguish the different instruments from each other. The guitars heavy distortion never overtakes the bass or the drumming. Craig's voice volume has been turned down since the last album; they're becoming an actual band, not like their highly evolved album where craig is put ontop of everything. The harmony-singing is easily heard along with the whole rest of the music. Here is a tip for people who want to figure out harmony-singing or guitar riffs easily - plug your earphones out very slightly (not even a millimetre) from your mp3 or CD player; the lead singing and all the added stuff added to the song will not be heard. // 10

Lyrics: The lyrics overall are very good. The complicated no-sense (at least to me) style lyrics really make The Vines a unique band. They've cut off on negtivity a bit since their last album which is a good thing. // 8

Impression: I would give the CD the "Album Of The Year Award" if that existed. Ride and Animal Machine are defenitly the most impressive songs from this album, and remind me of nirvana. Rainfall and Winning Days remind me of The Beatles. Although this CD involves more of the band as a whole than Highly Evolved, the front cover totally annoys me: Craig's head in large and colorful and the other band members in tiny and black/white. If Craig really wants to make him the most important then he should change the band name to "Craig Nichols", but then of course he would get the bad reputation of an "Avril Lavigne" type band. If I would lose this CD I would buy it again and I recomend it to all of you out there. // 8
The Big M
New Audioslave...I'm liking..

Alsooooooooo

INXS....to me, it does not sound like 'INXS' but, I guess they are taking a new branch...but ti still sounds ok, still has to grow on me
Rock'n'roll lies
I caved into curiosity and bought Down In Albion, the new Babyshambles album... I feel like I payed $24 to see a car crash or something.
It's not as bad as people had told me, but it'd help if they could actually play their instruments.
Thomhatesmusic
I think it's a brilliant album. ^^^^

I absolutely LOVE the new Franz Ferdinand album. But i was really sad at first because i didn't like it. All it made me do was crave listening to the other one.
