alright, i know lizzy and art chick already listen to em, but it seems that some people here might not have listened to them yet. and so this i say to you:

listen to them.
little_washu712
i have both albums so i have listened to them. if you like them you should here the jesus and mary chain. they are from the 80s smile.gif
velvet touch
yeah, i am also a big fan of theirs too. munki is their best work i think, despite what everyone says about physco candy. this is one of the first good things to come out of your obsession with the 80's.

I love those boys. They are a great great band. Unfortunatley, they are on the rocks. If they break up Peter Hayes will be playing with Joe and my band. If you like Black rebel, listen to Brian Jonestown massacre.

i never said that it didn't. it just doesnt seem that you look outside of the eighties spectrum very often. of course you are a vines fan, i'll give you that.

I do look out of the 80s spectrum......only if they have 80s influences. I like the Hives and White Stripes and a lot more non 80s bands as well.

Why bother with BRMC when you can still get Jesus and Mary Chain records anyway?

So who is sad about Mr. Jago? I know I am. He's the only member I met, and was so nice, signed me shoe, and was a great DJ inbetween sets.
Thomhatesmusic
its one of these bands where i dont really care much about the members or the band itself really - all i know is they did 2 great cds and well course i hope there ll be more.

My God, you must be the first person to've thought of that.

BRMC had a few good songs, but Take Them On, On Your Own was terrible.
kaleidoscope_eyes
i love them.

I have been a Black Rebel Motorcycle Club fan for a couple of years. Their mtv music video Love Burns got me hooked on them. Here is a web site that has free brmc downloads: http://www.complicatedsituation.com There is also a brmc chat room now. You will find it on the http://www.blackrebelmotorcycle.com web site. Its called http://www.brmcchat.com There are about 5 - 7 of us who chat with each other in there every day. Its fun to get newbies in there.
Bittersweet Bundle of Misery
BRMC are definetly my favorite "current" band. They put a mean live act.But I see no similarities to The Jesus and Mary Chain at all.

SEE YOU!!!!!!
Jammeh
Yeah... seeya....

Vocally and stylistically they're very JAMC. Musically they're more complex, with alternate guitar tunings and the like.
Their second album was very average.
Thomhatesmusic
I bought "I think I smell a rat" yesterday, average bootleg

The http://www.complicatedsituation.com web site got updated recently. There are new free brmc downloads there. Check it out. biggrin.gif

Here is Robert's recent letter to the mailing list:

It's been a long time. I don't know where to begin or how to explain what's happened and how much has changed. Right now, I would just like to say 'hello' to all the fans of our music who have stood by us and been waiting patiently for us to return. We miss playing our music live and miss traveling and meeting all of you in person.

For everyone that's been concerned and in the dark on what's happening with Nick, we've recently reconciled with Nick and he's back playing drums again. We're all really happy to be playing music together again. It's more fun than it's ever been in the past.

We've finished our 3rd record and it will be called "HOWL" (which is of course our own nod to Allen Ginsberg's book and the beat poets of the 50's and 60's). It will be released world wide on AUGUST 22nd, which is also my birthday so that's cool. We're very proud of this album and hope people give it a fair listen, it's very different than what some are expecting.

Someone told me to list the song titles for the record so I guess I'll do that. Even though I don't know why people want to know the titles when they can't hear the music along with it. But none the less...

1. Shuffle Your Feet
2. Howl
3. Devil's Waitin'
4. Ain't No Easy Way
5. Still Suspicion Holds You Tight
6. Fault Line
7. Promise
8. Weight Of The World
9. Restless Sinner
10. Gospel Song
11. Complicated Situation
12. Sympathetic Noose
13. The Line

By the way, the decision on the 1st single has been going back and forth for months now up until literally today, but I believe it's going to be "Ain't No Easy Way", and it would come out around early August.

I don't know, that seems like a long time from now... we should just leak a song on the internet ourselves and then blame it on some eager hacker/fan accusing them of not having any respect for music, art, or all the money that it took to record it.

But wait that's what every other band does. And besides that, it didn't take much money to record.

As far as record label news, ECHO will be releasing our records in UK/Europe. And RCA will be releasing everything in the U.S. and the rest of the world.

Oh, we're gonna be playing a handful of somewhat small shows in the UK this June (with The Brian Jonestown Massacre supporting). These will actually be our first live shows in almost a year, which is kinda cool. If you live in that part of the world you should check it out though.

I think David's posted all the new tour dates on our website.

I think that's enough for now, there will be plenty of time for the rest of it. It's just good to say 'hi'.

Take care,
From Robert Turner + BRMC

Single: Ain't No Easy Way is due out on 8 August
Album: Howl is gonna be released on 22 August

Me neither. Hey, I just noticed your location. biggrin.gif Well, that's a bad joke. It's Albert Hammond's fault. I also think that BRMC are a good band and further they are good-looking.

I like them too and saw them live here in Ljubljana, they're good live.
